Early collection of poems by American author, editor, and feminist Leslea Newman, a mentee of Alan Ginsburg’s at Naropa. Published in 1980 by Back Door Press of Englewood, CO. Slim 8vo, printed wrappers, 47 pages. Mostly not about shoes, though we learn directly from the author “I have a green belt in Shuri Ryu Karate; I can turn a canoe on a dime; my favorite color is leopard print; I am (mildly) obsessed with shoes; and I never met a piece of dark chocolate I didn’t like!” Mild rubbing and very minor bumping to wrappers; slight curve at outside of front wrapper. Contents clean and bright. Inscribed on the title page “For Keith/Whatever/I don’t care/With love, Leslea”—a cryptic but intriguing association .
