Initially sent as a translator, Gilbert served as a prison psychiatrist in Nuremberg, with unfettered access to Goering, von Ribbentrop, Keitel, Frank, Pohl, Ohlendorf, Hoss, Kaltenbrunner, Streicher, and others. Per the cover of the dust jacket, “This sensational report now published for the first time, is a startling revelation of the innermost thoughts of the Nazi defendants at the Nuremberg Trials.” Gilbert is portrayed by Colin Hanks in the recently released movie adaptation. 8vo, hardcover with pictorial dust jacket, 471 pages.
