Arquitectura y Lagrimas: Documentos de Arquitectura Popular Catalana 1975 para un Museo de Historia de la Ciudad (Inscribed to Massimo Vignelli)
An unusual photographic and architectural survey of Barcelona's vernacular and everyday built environment, published in conjunction with a 1975 exhibition at Sala Vinçon. Conceived by members of Studio PER—Pep Bonet, Cristián Cirici, Lluís Clotet, and Oscar Tusquets—the book documents overlooked aspects of the city's architectural landscape, treating ordinary buildings, commercial facades, and popular architectural forms as subjects worthy of historical attention. Small 8vo (6.25 × 6.5 inches), pictorial wrappers, 120 pages, extensively illustrated with black-and-white photographs. With biographical information on the architects. First edition, published in Barcelona in 1975 by Tusquets Editor. Text in Spanish and English by Oscar Tusquets and the members of Studio PER. Photographs by Leopoldo Pomes.
Presentation copy from the working library of Massimo and Lella Vignelli, inscribed on the front free endpaper by Oscar Tusquets: “A Massimo Vignelli, afectuosament / Oscar Tusquets / 27.11.75.” A particularly appealing designer-to-designer association, warmly inscribed in the year of publication. Slight lean to spine; front hinge weakened. Light bumping and rubbing to extremities.
