First edition, second printing of this appealing monograph on Finnish architect Matti Suuronen’s iconic saucer-shaped Futuro House, introduced in 1968 and produced in an edition of 70-100 examples. Edited by Marko Home and Mika Taanila and published in 2003 by Desura Oy, Ltd. With additional contributions from Ranti Than, Harri Hautajarvi, Joseph Lanza, Paul McNeil, and Harri Kalha. Delves into the Utopian pre-history and contemporary milieu of this space-age avant garde design and traces its visual and cultural impact from its inception to the present. Illustrations include period and contemporary in situ photographs, photos of interiors both then and now, renderings and blueprints, and advertising and promotional materials.
