Early book club edition featuring an inscription on the front free endpaper ("With all my thanks and good wishes") from van Druten to Jim Frasher, who was Lillian Gish's longtime manager and a minor Hollywood actor himself. Gentle bumping to extremities, with some damping staining along spine tail, affecting only first few leaves. Considerable damp staining to rear cover, extending to spine tail and front cover. Light rubbing to edge-chipped dj, with open tear at spine head, and closed tear at mid-length of spine.
