Widmer (1929-2026) was a Swiss Bauhaus-trained graphic designer (he studied with Johannes Itten) influenced by American art directors Alexey Brodovitch and Herb Lubalin. His exacting but expressive oeuvre included projects for the Pompidou Centre—book designs, posters for exhibitions and, famously, the logo. 8vo (6.5” x 9.5”), embossed fold-over wrappers, 96 pages, color and b/w illustrations throughout. text in English.
