Catalog of a Roy Lichtenstein exhibition held at the Galerie Ileana Sonnabend in Paris in June 1963. An important early solo show for Lichtenstein, whose breakout Pop Art show at Castelli in New York took place the year before, and an early show for Sonnabend, whose Paris gallery opened in 1962, nine years ahead of her first SoHo/New York showroom. Sonnabend, who was married to Leo Castelli for 27 years, was instrumental in introducing 1960’s American art to European audiences, and vice versa in the 1970’s.
