Mollino: Casa Del Sole

$200.00

First edition monograph on legendary architect and designer Carlo Mollino’s modernist ski chalet in Cirvinia in the Italian Alps. After designing the building in 1947, Mollino was brought back to design the furniture and interiors in 1953, including now-iconic (and blue-chip) chairs, tables, and beds. Written and designed by Napoleone Ferrari, the book includes an unpublished Mollino article, “Country Architecture in the Upper Aosta Valley.” Published in 2007 by Museo Casa Mollino. Small 4to (8.5” x 11.5”), cloth boards with Mollino photomontage pasted in, 128 pages, richly illustrated with color and b/w photographs, sketches, renderings, and other images. Text in English. A sumptuous production befitting the Napoleone/Fulvio Ferrari collaboration. Minor rubbing to boards, otherwise near fine.
