Original poster created by Roy Lichtenstein for the inaugural (or first official) Next Wave Festival held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, 4 October-4 December 1983, published in 1983 by Next Wave Producers Council in cooperation with the Next Wave Touring Fund. In the Columbia Spectator, Oct 6, 1983: "Next Wave will offer a broad look at what's happening on today's experimental scene. It features program of music, theater, and dance. The list of production includes the fully staged version of Philip Glass' new opera 'The Photographer/Far from the Truth' (in collaboration with Rob Malasch), an evening of contemporary jazz by the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and a set of performances by the Trisha Brown Dance Company (in collaboration with Laurie Anderson and the artist Robert Rauschenberg)." Offset lithograph in yellow, red, and black, 36”x 24”. Minor bumping to extremities, particularly along left lower edge. Otherwise clean and bright. Signed by Lichtenstein (R Lichtenstein) lower right. Unframed. Scarce signed.
