Omni Vertical Furniture Brochure
Fold-out brochure dated to 1967 for the Omni Vertical Furniture system, designed by George Nelson and produced by Aluminum Extrusion, Inc. of Charlotte, Michigan. The Omni system was a direct forerunner of Nelson’s more famous CSS wall system for Herman Miller, though it rivaled or exceeded that system in terms of quality of construction and design. Originally offered by Nelson to Herman Miller, the production and distribution of Omni was undertaken by Aluminum Extrusion, Inc when Herman Miller demurred. CSS was the result of Nelson tweaking the design at the behest of Herman Miller when confronted with the success of Omni. The 4 1/8” x 9 3/8” multi-color brochure opens to a two-sided, 12-panel size of 24.25” x 18.75” and functions as a room planning kit, complete with four actual room settings. Light bumping and rubbing to extremities. Light foxing primarily to front and back covers. Closed tears to center fold.
