First edition monograph on outsider artist and design picker extraordinaire Robert Loughlin (1949-2011). Published in 2011 by GRIP, Inc. Square 8vo (8” x 8”), pictorial wrappers perfect bound, 47 pages, full-color reproductions of over 30 artworks on canvas, paper, and a wide variety of found objects. Edited by Steve Hanson and with an introduction by Carlo McCormick. With an artist interview and bio at the end. Laid in are copies of testimonials by Dimitri Levas, Benjamin Liu, and Thomas O’Brien. A special limited copy signed on the title page by the artist and accompanied by a 7.75” x 7.75” original marker drawing by Loughlin of his iconic image, The Brute, initialed and dated (2011) on the lower right. Slight rubbing to extremities, but overall a near fine unread copy. The drawing has been kept in the book since 2011 and remains in fine condition. Provenance: Acquired directly from the artist and his partner, Gary Carlson.
